The course examines the processes and events which shaped Sweden’s values, interests and priorities as an international actor.
The course starts with a historical overview and then transitions into a contemporary exploration of Swedish foreign policy. Particular attention is paid to how Sweden has reshaped its foreign policy in response to key domestic, regional and international changes, especially in the 21st century. Possible future directions for Sweden internationally will also be discussed amidst a rapidly changing political landscape at home and abroad. Language of instruction English and Swedish.
